I have read that Wagner tractor Co. built two articulated tractors for Deere in the 60's, the WA-14 and the WA-17. Do any of these exist today? A friend of mine in high school had a Wagner ( I dont't know the model number) would it be similar to the Deere spec'd machine? Just curious--Bob

Yes, I have a WA-14 John Deere Wagner for sale. There are a few of them left, but only about 25 of each the WA-14 and WA-17 were built for John Deere. Many of these tractors were remanufactured by various companies such as Big Bud. E-mail bmpester@midrivers.com

Wagner built the WA-14 and WA-17 for John Deere during the period between the discontinuation of the John Deere Built component tractor-the 8010/8020 and the introduction of the John Deere built 7020 and 7520. Deere felt they NEEDED to have a large articulated tractor, but during this time period---the 60s---the sales potential of such beasts was so low that Deefe felt they couldn't justify the expense of building or designing one one themselves. Wagner was available and could be "sold" as a "John Deere" much like the much later Japanese utilities are also sold as "John Deere". When the 7020 was introduced, the Wagner tractors were cancelled. There are still a few around.

Know they made loaders, never heard of tractors.
John Deere was known for marketing other peoples
ideas,or buying them and putting his name on
them.

I guess Deere invented the color green too and they just let Crayola Crayons in on the act. Come to think of it why don't you buy some new ones and go play with your coloring book.

Based on the best information available at this time, I think Al Gore, Jr. invented the color green.
