I agree, I think it is more fun to watch stock tractors go head-to-head, there is one show I go to that they chain farmalls to john deeres and see who pulls, those who want super stock, good for them, but I prefer the "bragging rights" kinda of styles, hey I might be 15, but I am taking my Case to a stock pull to go for it, chaining it to a jd, now we can have fun!! oh well, some things won't be like they should, -BradW

What year is your "A"? There's a lot of difference between unstyled, early styled, and late styled. I have an early styled and it weighs 3600 lbs with no driver or weights/brackets. I have removed a few un-necessary parts to get it there and with some more work and $$$ I could get it into the 3500 lb class. Mike

Mine weighed in at about 5000 pounds with the cast rear wheels, I would think with the steel wheels you could get it to around 4000.

I don't personally have one, but I pulled against one at a tractor pull the other night. The 900 Ford got second, with the Damn Deere in first. I guess it is a 39' on rubber, yet it was running on a hot fuel. It most definately wasn't stock. I guess you got to hopp up a tractor that says John Deere on the side of it, otherwise there is know good reason to hook up to the sled.

Poor wittle guy, got beat by an old 2 cyl. JOhn Deere A. I guess that you also have superman vision and could see the inside of the engine and that it was all hopped up. Run down other peoples tractors cause you got beat. talk about a looser.

Given a choice between driving a "hopped up" Deere or a lawnmower (Ford) I'll take the Deere anytime. Run whacha brung and if ya didn't bring enough then don't complain about the ones that did. Mike

I'll tell you what I brought. My tractor has been completely rebuilt from the engine to the tranny. And antique tractor pulling is supposed to be stock tractor, not modifed. I anin't bitchin' because I got beat by a John Deere, I'm bitchin' because it was hopped up. Now if he wants to pull it in a Super stock class, he is welcome to. Yet, he should not have even shown up that night to make the rest of us pullers in that class, look foolish. If I wasn't in the sportsmanship state of mind, I would have protested. The lawn mowers are good, but whoa to those damn tractor.

I agree -- what ever happened to pulling stock tractors. You can't even find a stock tractor in the farm tractor pulls at the local fairs.

Mike I'm sorry, but it just anin't fair. An antique pull is for people who want to preserve the past. You bring your tractor off the farm & pray that it does well.
