Okay, so apparently the 730D fan blew apart once many a moon ago and hit the radiator. An inspection of the pump shows the forward bearing is totally shot. The splines on the rear of the pump drive shaft are half worn through. Shaft is excessively worn at the fan bearing area.

~Is rich duane making that pump shaft? Or am I gonna have to get the new one at Deere? Anyone making the couplings found in the fan shaft?

~Finally, I know i'm going to have to get two seals for the rear. But which way does one put the lips?

The shaft can wear through on the front side if the friction discs are gone. The shaft is available from Deere. Buy all new parts including friction disks, friction washers and fan drive cups. It won't be cheap. 4 seals are needed: 2 inside seals w/lips toward P/S fluid and 1 outside seal with lip toward fan and other one w/lip toward ventilator pump. If you do a search for "Power Steering Pump" there is a ton of info. on this site. Use something like Hondabond or shellac to seal the pump sections during the rebuild.

You'll have to get all P/S parts from Deere if they still offer them. The seals Work opposite each other. One seals P/S fluid in the other seals engine oil in.Make sure you replace the fan shaft tube O-ring.
