OKAY... so I took the entire pedestal off the 730D, and separated the quill, spindle, and cylinder.

Well, well, lookie what I found inside...

The two bolts that hold the vane bracket onto the shaft had SHEARED perfectly, and this allowed the vane bracket and vane to score 3/32 inch grooves in the power steering cylinder and etched the quill surface, as well.

I was able to save the spindle and the pedestal (which fit pretty tight), and the vanes still look pretty good. Thrust bearing is shot, and this tractor has a WIDE FRONT, so I don't get why the vane sheared off, either.

All of this crap just to replace two O-rings.

I'm in need of an un-scored cylinder and a tight quill (bearing wobbles in quill)

For what it's worth ? The lower section, quill, can be resurfaced some and still work fine. Ours just had some deep scratches from grit. You just have to also take the same amount off the area where the vanes ride and where the cylinder sits. I would think the area where that thrust bearing sits can be built up and remachined too.

It's pretty common, with that setup, to find those bolt(s) loose or sheared of.
