working on a 420 carburetor trying to get it to idle right have tryed two different carbs with same out come rough Idle ,if I put a carb off of a 40 (tsx245)on the tractor it runs fine ,if i put the 688 that Iam working on the 40 it runs rough,I think its the carb but Iam not sure of the amount of fuel the 245 puts out is less than the 688. the tsx 688 when its on the 420 seams to load up and foul out the new plugs .any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem on my "M" and finally found out I still had a plugged passage that I had to drill out. it was full of rust. works fine now. the plugged passage was in the bottom bowl in the center small hole. it looked open but it wasn't.
