It also looks like the spindle is two piece, this is what allows to make that split?>>> No, that's a drafter's phantom line used to show the top end of an object and the remaining lower portion, with a repetitive area of insignificance in between. Like if you would illustrate a ruler, show the end at 1 and 2", then a double squiggly line, the 11 and 12", you're to think of this as a continuous object. So, the parting line is the top surface of the cylinder. The top pedestal body goes up, then the cylinder can slide off, then remove the vane bracket, then the lower quill can come off. Stacked like a layer cake. Frank
