I'm about to acquire a styled G. It's a basket case, but appears to be all there. Any advise from the "G" experts out there?

Most of the enjoyment for me is the challenge of taking a basket case and bringing it back to life. I get personal satisfaction from the task. I have a G that is almost ready to paint now that was as you describe. I think that it will be my favorite when thru. Sure I spent some money on it but I was in no hurry so it did'nt hurt so much. And one more G won't go to the scrap man. Just my opinion for what it is worth.

The first question you need to ask yourself is how bad do you want a fully restored G. Being you're starting with a basket case, you'll have to want it pretty bad. G parts have become quite expensive, and some pieces are getting hard to find. Maybe park this one behind the shop for a while & see if a better one becomes available later. The basket case could be used as a parts donar if it's all there as you say. Good Luck.

no expert on anything but did learn to say yes ma'am your right to my wife earlyon in our marriage. buy you a owners, parts and shop manual before you start anything. your about to spend a bunch of money, but it will be worth all the effort and tiema dn energy and money when you get through. start out by deciding if your up to the challenge and go from there. if you don't like to get dirty and learn new cuss words don't start. if yo enjoy working with your hands and want to be proud of something you've done, the clean out a place in your shop and get-er-done.
