Welcome to JD-H World! Take a short trip to the JD-H Restoration Site (Below) for some interesting (I hope) reading on your new Little Johnny. Good news -- no push rod tubes for the JD-H tractor. Hopefully, a new head gasket will do the trick. One good source for JD-H parts is Heartland Tractor Parts (816) 587-4747 -- ask for Russ. Before you tear into it though, I would like to suggest you have in hand literature applicable to the H. The Parts Catalog (PC304) can be bought from Ed Tucker or half the going rate (812) 537-4622. Other manuals you need can be found at the JD-H Restoration Site, or you can try John Deere for the OMR2011 Operator's manual. Service Manual -- If you have the JD-4 consolidated shop service manual, it does have the JD-H included. And if not, you can find a JD-H Service Guide (Service manual + tips) at the JD-H Site. Fenders -- Only one style was ever designed by Deere for the JD-H tractor. I think I have some pictures of the H with the right kind of fenders if you write me. Also, there is a picture of a JD-H fender on the final page of Chapter 1 of the Restoration Guide -- which is accessible to you at the JD-H site. Select the Restoration Guide, and one-click on the Excerpt which includes Ch 1. I have installed a PTO into two JD-H tractors that did not have one -- so write me for some expanded information if this is what you have in mind. Lots of things involved!
