This spring I was riding around about 70 miles from home and spotted an unstyled B sitting in a field, so I stopped and asked about it, came to terms on a price and hauled it home. I was doing the same thing on Monday and came upon another B about 45 miles from home. I just brought it home yesterday and checked the serial numbers and I found out that I have consecutive numbers on these tractors, and have one in the garage that I am restoring and the number on that one is 13 numbers off from the other 2 I just bought!! It is a weird find thats for sure.

Farmer near here was casing a combine salvage yard for parts for his combine recently, found one in the yard with consecutive number to his. Had been brought in from midwest, so probably not shipped to same dealer from factory! Suprising find! I would expect that some consecutive numbered machines might have been shipped to same dealer, but to get one from many miles away???

Well, I think it is a good find no matter how far apart the tractors had traveled. Farther away is more odd, but all in all I think that just by luck buying one, and bringing it home then finding out you have the next serial number sitting in the yard is just a great find. Both tractors are on full steel and the B I just bought, I am the third owner. The best part is that the first B I bought is in the process of being restored for my son, and the B I just bought is going to be my daughters when I get it restored, so that, I think is going to be special with my kids having consecutive numbered tractors restored and bringing to some shows, it doesn't get much better than that!!

When I looked at the last b I bought I knew that the number was close to one that I had, but never dreamed that it was that close!!!! I was pretty happy when I looked at the numbers, maybe I should have played the lotto yesterday!! I have a small collection (28), mostly, do I dare say,Farmall and McCormick. My green collection is coming along pretty nice though, soon it will be half red and half green. One of my grandfathers farmed with Farmall and the other with John Deere.
