Here is an album of me, the 4020 and the 30 combine doin' 5 acres and about 1/6 of it was pretty flat on the gorund. This was July 1st but I just got the pictures from my aunt because my dad lost my mom's camera. I am still learning the lessons of combining in general and also with a belt driven. It is all fun. This was my first wheat season with the 30.
Thanks for looking.

Just curious...where are you located...it sure looks flat there. Also, what kind of yield did you get? Looks like you should be able to get a good stack of bales from the straw.

That is in Tippecanoe county Indiana, near Lafayette and about 1 hour and 20-30 minutes north and slightly west of Indianapolis. Purdue university is about 30 minutes and I believe Matt_In went or goes there if I remember correctly. It isn't quire as flat as it looks but no big hills. In this short field when I was at the other end you could just barely see the tip of the canopy on the tractor. I know it seems stupid but I forgot to ever ask grandpa how much was at the elevator and consequently yielded. Someone else baled the straw.
Thanks for lookin'

I love the pictures. I've been looking for a working, good condition pull behind John Deere Combine. Let me know if you know of any.

thanks

Thanks for the reply. Guess I didn't pay enough attention to the landscape during the 5 years I spent at ol' P.U. from 1955 to 1960. We lived at a trailer park on U.S. 52 west of town about 5 miles.

I could have said I was too busy studying to notice things, but that would be a lie...LOL.

I grew up southeast of Noblesville.

I will be doing that this week with my 30, but behind a Cockshutt 40. Should have been done a couple weeks ago, but we were too busy binding wheat. Its for our club..not for a living.
