Have a 1961 2010 and the implement hydraulics have gone out. Steering still works "o.k." Took it in to be repaired and mechanic said he cleaned out the pump(said it had watery oil), cleaned the screen and they worked for about ten minutes and then quit. He pointed to the pump that sits in front of the radiator. Where do I go from here. Is this the right pump? Someone I asked referred to it as the charge pump. And how does water mix with the oil if the tractor is covered and never used in inclement weather?

I had the rockshafts off mine 4 times until I got all the dirt out of the control unit, and got it adjusted properly. Check your Load & Depth control lever. Set it to load. If is still does not lift the arms, lift the top off it and remove valves one at a time and clean balls, check springs, and clean holes. Adjust according to manual. Adjustment is critical, and hard to do.

The watery oil thing is usually condensation from going through changes in temperature as in fall, winter, spring. When the cold cast iron is subjected to warm, humid air you can see it will be covered with condensation on the outside; this also happens on the inside on the cases.
The "pump" on the front of the radiator is a hydraulic motor that operates the steering linkage.
I would recommend draining your new hydraulic oil and REPLACING the hydraulic filter with a new one from the Deere dealer. It is known to a lot of 2010 owners that the hydraulic oil filter can't be cleaned well enough to work.
The YT archives at the top of these postings will tell you a bunch on the 2010 hydraulics. The service manual #SM-2035 is also helpful. Good luck.

thanks for that info. excuse this question, but if the motor is for the steering linkage, then does it have anything to do with the lift arm hydraulics? I am certainly planning of getting the service manual.

Ricky, a John Deere service manual is an absolute must, also make sure you get the one that matches your serial number range. If your steering and 3pt still work ok I would first check the valves under the dash. The actual pump is ahead of the transmission. What are the symptoms when you move the remote lever. Does the engine labor, or does nothing happen?

When we engage the most outside left remote lever there is no change in the engine performance. There is a loud grinding noise in the area between the seat and the console just underneath the top plate. When inspecting from underneath noise is not as prominent. There is no response from the three-point at all now. Before it completely stopped the lift arms would drift down after the tractor was turned off. Also before the three-point quit functioning the lift arms would "bump" when there was an implement attached and raised.
