I was wondering if anybody knows how accurate a SW 757-W tach is. I checked it on my drill and it was pretty close.
Thanks

I guess that's the old dial type handheld tach? Maybe not the most accurate tach there is but they work okay for most things. Just don't put them on a outside surface spinning to measure surface speed as that will over rev one and mess it up. Always measure in the center of rotation. We use those tachs on our old JDs because it was the type of tachs we always had used for years to set our irrigation pumps with. Each tach was bit different we had in our pickup or hired hands pickup and usually had to take them side by side so the other guy wasn't setting the pump too fast and no two were ever the same RPMs usually off a few but after you got use to the motors and pumps you took care of you usually knew if they had sped up before getting tach out and learned where to set them with your tach.
