I HAVE A 535 BALER,SERIAL#E00535X806504 THAT IS BURNING THE TWINE PUMP BELTS INTO.I HAVE TRIED JOHN DEERE OEM BELTS AND AFTERMARKERT BELTS THAT ARE 1/2X43", BOTH BURN INTO.I HAVE REPLACED BOTH THE LARGE DRIVE PULLEY AND THE SMALL DRIVEN PULLEY ON THE PUMP. PULLEYS ARE IN LINE. TWINE ARM CYLINDER WORKS FREELY. TWINE ARMS ARE NOT BINDING,TOUCHING PICKUP TEETH OR HAY AS THEY CYCLE THROUGH. TWINE FEEDS FREELY FROM ROLL WITH EASE. AFTER BALE IS MADE AND TYING CYCLE STARTS THE TWINE ARMS MOVES IMMEDIATELY WHEN YELLOW LIGHT GLOWS ON MONOTOR. MACHINE WILL BALE 15 0R 20 BALES BEFORE BEGINNING TO BURN BELTS,THEN SMALL PULLEY IS HOT ENOUGH TO BURN BELTS PRETTY QUICK. BALED BOUT 20 ROLLS YESTERDAY BEFORE BURNING THE FIRST BELT INTO,BUT THEN BURNT 4 BELTS AFTER BALING BOUT 4 BALES PER BELT. SMALL PULLEY IS EXTREMELY HOT.AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT AND ALL DAY, THE PULLEY WAS COOL WHEN I STARTED TO BALE THIS AFTERNOON. I BALED 4 BALES AND CHECKED BELT AND THE SMALL PULLEY WAS TO HOT TO TOUCH AND LARGE PULLEY WAS ALMOST AS HOT. BELT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE SLIPPING AS THE BELT TENSIONER IS TIGHT AGAINST BELT AND BELT FEELS TIGHT WHEN TENSION IS CHECK BY HAND. PUT ON A NEW PUMP TWICE AND GOT SAME RESULTS. TRIED REDUCING SIZE OF BALES DOWN TO AROUND 4 1/2 FT HIGH BUT DIDN'T HAVE ANY EFECT,STILL BURNS BELTS INTO WHERE THEY ARE IN CONTACT WITH THE PUMP PULLEY.

I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE ANYONE MAY OFFER TO REMEDY THIS PROBLEM.

THANKS,LAMAR

Lamar, after tying cycles and bale is ejected and tailgate closes, check to see if belt is loose/no tension. If it has tension the twine mechanizm is not re-latching when tailgate closes. This can be caused by foreign material on/around spool valve, sticky spool valve or broken/missing spring. Also there is a belt guide that belt needs to go under,be sure your getting belt under it. Also look for "caps lock" on your computer as it easier to read without it being on. Tx Jim

Thanks Tx Jim for the info. I have checked all the things you mentioned and all are correct. Twine mechanizm is relatching when gate closes. No tension is on belt after twine mechanizm latches.Belt is not turning in pulleys after latching is done and belt tensioner is not touching belt.

Thanks,Lamar
