I'm back! I posted earlier this week about a neighbor's 4020 Industrial and made some claims based on what others were telling me about its purported rarity. I didn't do my homework!

My brother visited this neighbor last night. The scoop is this:

It's a 4010 Industrial gasoline powered. Visiting weirddeere.com shows me that this is indeed rare--only 10 were made. According to the neighbor, his 4010 left the factory with a 4020 motor in it.

He still wants to know how many might be around. He was told that three are known of--his, one in New York and the other reported one he doesn't know about.

Thanks for getting me straightened out.

George,

I hope you see this! I would like to know more about your 4010 if possible, for my website at:

www.weirddeere.com

Could you send the serial number or photos? There are now only four 4010I gas tractors that I know about, including yours.

Joe,

I know of two others (one in NY and one in Canada). Of course, there could be a few more out there. I didn't know about your neighbor's until now!

If you email me, I will see if I can get you in contact with the other two owners.

If you could see if I could have the serial number (maybe the owners name too?) for my website, I'd really appreciate it!

"4010 left the factory with a 4020 motor in it". I really find this hard to believe. You never know with JD, but I doubt it. It could have gotten a 4020 upgrade early in its life?
