I am considering the 24 to 12 volt conversion. I have a 4240 that was converted to using two 12 volt batteries instead of the original two six volt batteries. The kit is sold by John Deere.

Could this conversion kit be used/done on a 1966 4020 with the existing two 12 volt batteries with the starter and alternator switch out?

My son did this to my 65 4020 some years ago (used the two existing 12V batteries) and I'm still using it that way with no problems.
