Hey Guys, I am having problems with a 3020 powershift transmission. The tractor has not started or moved in 7-8 months and I started it up yesterday and it will run for a very short period of time and then a big load will be put on the engine and it will stall it. The load feels like it is in the transmission but i can not be sure of that. It will move forward and back when it starts, i did not try moving it when the load is on the egine. Any thoughts as to what might cause this to happen? Thank you for any thoughts and advice you can give me!!

I assume you are siting there in 'park' when the load comes on and she stalls. Sounds to me like the thing is shifting into a gear on her own while the 'park' pawl holds her back. If the 'park' pawl is indeed working, that should mean your shift linkage is OK, so you've got hydraulic shift-valve problems.

Joe, I was thinking something like that, maybe a valve sticking up inside there somewhere. Do you know of any way of freeing it up if it is a valve? Is there some way to relieve pressure build-up inside the transmission? Thanks for the info!!

Rob
