Looking for any information on a John Deere #583 pull behind combination plow, cultivators and discs with lever operation? Any photos, history or info on how it functions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Rob, I'm going to take a wild guess here, and say that what you have is a plow with the name JOHN DEERE stamped into the top of a beam and after it is the number 583. If it has another beam with the number 623 it is just a #4series plow. Plows have a disc called a coulter and sometimes a jointer which might look like a cultivator part. These are all aids to turning a nice furrow. If I'm way off here and you KNOW what a plow looks like, and what it has on it, give us a bit more description or a picture. Is this something you own or are looking at? Plow operation manuals are plentiful if you have an idea what you need. Bob

Hardly a wild guess, Bob! Rob, can you post a picture? More details, wheel sizes? tail wheel? number of bottoms? is the clutch enclosed? All details important if Bob is going to identify it for you - and Bob knows 'bout as much about JD plows as anyone on this board!
