The two wire leads coming from the coil, where do they go? Does the primary lead go to the condenser side or....?

Thank's for the info guy's. Think I've done it just as you've advised though and still nothing? No spark whatsoever so I'm beginning to believe maybe this mag is kaput. The new mag cap and rotor I installed last fall shortly before shutting the A down for the winter are already scored off to the side so it would appear the bearing or bushing back there somewhere is shot to? Maybe the cause of all my problem's? And that's what I'm about to check out next. I'll let you know how it go's and thank's again.

Mornin Rob, On some Ive seen, they only fit the right way, because their terminal sizes (ID) only allow them to fit the ground or contact points screws which are different in diameter. If not, the one that looks not insulated is what gets attached to the case ground, while the insulated or covered one is what attaches to the contact points. Be sure if it has any kill wire or kill post and stud, that either the stud or its wire (also attached to points) is not shoted out to ground.

God Bless the USA Ol John T Nordhoff

Rob, if you have the standard paper wrapped coil the slightly shorter double shellac coated wires go to a case ground screw near the core hold down clip. The longer covered wire attaches to the points center stud [the same one the condenser attaches to]. Make sure the coil is installed so the center contact button faces the inner cap contact clip.
