We are selling a JD 220 JD disk. We had some people come to try it out and they claimed that the left rear (wing) gang wasn't digging in properly. Well when they went to fold it up a hydraulic hose blew. The hose that goes from the front all the way back to the rear wing cylinder. My question is, could the weak hydraulic line have affected the performance of that gang, or does that cylinder just float after the disk is unfolded? We have never had this problem with the disk. But they were disking ground that had been no-tilled for a few years. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I've had a 210 disk since '77. Main tractors then were 4020 and 3020. 4020 handled it well, 3020 lacked enough power, so I raised the disk a bit to pull it, and it was always out of level by several inches. The dealer's partsman worked for me PT, and determined that the axle/frame weldment was welded at the wrong angle, so JD replaced it with another new one. Leveled out fine with either tractor. Is your buyer pulling with a smaller tractor than what you used?

there are several ways that the problem could be but not from the hose --- that floats when its down..

now for just the back gang to not be working is hard to understand unless 2 things

one: there is mud between some of the blades
two: the gang angle is set straighter than the other. other than that--- I wouldnt know why

well those disks are hard to get adjusted properly
