Anyone have any experience with the Oliver model 83 Corn Picker. Just bought one about a week ago. Seems to be in good condition. 2-row wide, w/ 8 roll husking bed. Runs real smooth. I bought it from the original owner. How did these work? Were there any weak points? Thanks for any help. I plan to pick about 20 acres a year and run it w/ an 1800 Oliver.

I have a 83 2 row wide with a 12 roll bed. I like it. Sounds like you found you a nice one. I have only had mine a short time, haven't needed any parts yet, a parts machine is a good thing to have. The only trouble I've had is with stalks balling up around the drive conveyor. Your 1800 ought to be a good match and look good with the picker. 20 acres is about what we grow too for cattle feed. I use a New Idea Uni for opening the field and pick some with it too. Good luck.
