I am in the process of restoring my grandfather's old JD #5 mower. I am curious what is still available for this mower. It has been sitting a long time. The gear box turns freely. My most immediate need is for a wheel bearing assembly. Does anyone know if these are readily available?

I was reading your follow up. I am also redoing a No. 5 mower to use and need the pitman arm. Are they readily available?

JD has the parts you need. Bring your wallet though.
JD also has the parts and user manuals for this mower. I picked one up for mine. It shows how to hook it up to many different tractors and also all of the adjustments that you need for the mower. JD part # for the user manual is OMH10156-01jan56

There are a lot of parts still available from mother deere. If not Almost every junkyard has them on there lot. I just got mine and am redoing it to use. They are good ole mowers. Thanks Chris
