Hydraulic cylinder pistons: what is the cost to rechrome?

Could use some advice on this:
What can I expect to pay to have two hydraulic cylinder pistons rechromed? The bucket lift cylinders on our Case 450 have taken weather pretty hard while sitting out since last April. There is bad pitting and some chrome shows sign of small flaking on a place or two. I figure I'll be replacing the seals all the time if I don't get them fixed. Am I right? How expensive will it be? Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.
It helps to have a place like this to ask a question every now & then. Mike in Va.

I just rebuilt 2 cyl's on my IH656 loader. All of the seals, o-rings, etc didn't add up to much - maybe $20-30 total. BUT when the hydraulic shop saw the pistons, they recommended getting them polished b/c the pitting would've torn up the new seals. I forget what their estimate was, but both pistons ended up being about $150 total. My pitting was a bit deep though, which required them to grind them down and then building them back up to the proper diameter. Then they got polished.
