I am thinking about getting a FEL for my MF 165. How big or small of one can I use? Also I have aux hydraulics for my MOCO. If I put a FEL on will I loose the use of the rear hyd?
Any info on a brand and $$$ would help.
Thanks

The MF loaders were pretty good, we had a 246 on our 285 and even though it was used hard we never had to weld on it except for the bucket. I think a 236 would fit on the 165 if you could find one.

I would recommend you use a front mounted pump and either an Aux. hyd. reservoir, or tie into the rear end as your resevoir if the loader frame doesn't double as one.

Our 165 has an Allis Chalmers loader mounted on it, and it originally came on an Oliver 1755. Too small for the 1755, but it did hold up fairly well.

Any manufacturer will have something that will work, just a matter of your budget.

Yes, you will lose the use of your rear hydraulic outlets. You could avoid this by putting in an auxillary hydraulic pump either PTO driven or front mounted. This way you would also have fully independent hydraulics. The front mounted pump is preferrable as then you don't lose your PTO application when your loader is working. The MF 165 has pretty slow hydraulics, with marginal capacity. With an auxillary pump you can have 20 GPM capacity.
