Anyone know how many rpms the hyd pump that is inside the hyd tank needs to turn to get the proper flow rate for the accumulator to work correctly. I bought an accumulator that previously ran on the baler flywheel. My baler flywheel does not have a v-belt notch on it. I need to get creative to drive the hyd pump and have no idea how fast it needs to turn. Thanks for any help!!

I just measured the original 2 v-belt pulley on a farmhand accumulator pump/tank and it was 1 foot circumference. The Baler flywheel is smooth and 3 foot circumference. That is 1:3 ratio. Flywheel turns 540 so pump is at about 1620 rpm. One small idler pulley on a sliding mount for belt tension adjust.

I'm going to a tractor pto hydraulic pump since my baler (NH272) flywheel already has 3 belts from the Wisconsin VH4D and no more room. This looks like one crazy contraption, but it can run on any tractor and turn sharp corners without worrying about the pto shaft.

Good Luck! Hay season is fast upon us!

Its been many years, but if I remember----I think I had a double V pulley on the pump that was 9 inches diameter. The double V belts ran on the flat face of the flywheel. When I got it it had a smaller 1 grove pulley and the farmhand people gave up on it and could not make it work. All it would do was slip its belt. It takes two tight belts to drive it. I got it at scrap price from them, then used it for years. If you have the same pump that I had. You don't need groves on the large flywheel.
