I'm looking to buy a neighbor's semi-mounted Melroe plow. It is a 3-16 spring reset. He bought it in the early 70's and it seems to be in pretty decent shape. Are these plows any good, and are parts still available?

Which series, 900? or 902. If it's an RR, it's basically junk. Difference in 900 and 902 is the standard that holds the bottom is made stronger on the 902. Inch wider on top and is cut in a 'U', rather than a straight cut before they bend out to the attaching points. (Pix would be worth a thousand words here). 902 might have a bit more vertical clearance- don't remember for sure, but I had both over the years. Also, which bottoms are on it, Star or AC 387? Makes a difference in performance and parts availability. Also check the tailwheel pivots- think they were steel on steel instead of having a replaceable bushing. I believe I had one of them rebuilt and bushed. Reset worked fine, generally a good plow. Melroe part of Clark now.

Thanks for your response. I couldn't find the model number anywhere. The plow is painted blue , the shares appear to be the same as those used on Oliver plows. One other thing I remember is that it has spring coulters.
