Fairbanks Morse Hammermill speed

What RPM, as opposed to FPM on belt, are required to operate a Fairbanks Morse model 40 stationary hammermill. I can't locate the FPM on the machine plate. Also, anyone recall whar the original color was on these? Thanks for your help.

If no one helps...

Fairbanks-Morse is still in business, and while they do not service any of the old farm stuff, I have seen several articles where someone contacted the "archivist" at FBM, and they replied with information on the old stuff.

No guarantees, but it won't cost you anything to ask!

The "800" number is at the site linked below. Good luck trying to get through to someone in the company archives!
