Farmhand 8 bale accumulator and loader.
I am looking to purchase an 8 bale accumulator and a 8 bale loader. I am looking for a source for the manuals to ensure what I have, and if the used equipment has all the parts etc.before I give the cash to the current owner. I have tried through my local "Agco dealer" but is of little avail. They need a "serial number" to order the publications. I am unable to locate a "serial or model number" on the aging equipment. The bale accumulator is the PTO driven hydraulic pump. The loader (I think that is what they call it) attaches to the tractor front end "loader" and picks up the 8 bales and loads them onto the wagon. Has several curved teeth to hook the bales to the loader. Hydraulics are two hoses which attach to the tractor"s haydraulic system. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Gerry I have two Farhand accumulators one paid $100 for and is mostly for parts like the one you show in your picture it was missing things and the motor/pump that drives the bales off was cracked,it was pulled behind the baler. The second one I bought was at an auction paid $25 it was pulled behind a tractor and was pto drive pickup on it and also drove the pump.I had the pickup chain to tight and so it bunch a bale as it got on to the table and took the gears out now I can't find any gears.I do have another accumulator spot and they want $300 for it will try to get it and hopeful get one going by hayig season.I ddi like the way it bunch the bales.Steffen also makes accumulators but they are very proud of them $$$$ can't affort them.Did see one for sale it the Capital press for $5500 which is not a bad price for them.Have any questions e-mail me jfields@shasta.com

The accumulator model is probably a F100C or F100D. The only Farmhand loader I´ve seen using the grapple is an F-11. Post some photos and someone here will know what models you´re looking at.

Secret to the accumulator is to have plenty of volume of hydraulic flow to "kick" the bales into place. Secret to stacking with the fork is to not have anybody watching the first few days.

LMAOROTF..... That's great advice, perhaps from someone who's been there done that. With that advice I know I will be doing my most isolated hay field first next year.

Look's like the front bale hold-down on the accumulator is missing...you will need that for sure...the holes in the side members are for ajustment to get a snug fit to hold the bales steady on the platform. this machine takes fine adjustment to work correctly...also you need a baler that will make a good tight bale or the push over rail could break it. Done many hundreds of thousands with this equipment, had better luck with hydraulics run off the baler flywheel though...vee- belt drive, the loader hitch brackets are missing..? when grabbing the bales with the loader you will have more success if you turn the steering wheel at the last second to the left...sort of push the bales tight...the side bar for the loader is thrown on the bale platform...hope this of help..... Roger.

Roger,

You bet it will help a lot!!!! I have no experience with this type of equipment. I did see on operate twice and was very impressed with how smoothly it operated (assume the fellow really knew how to fine tune this machine). The loader fellow was equally smooth in his technique. Any advice is very much appreciated. Any other thoughts would be very welcome. I am interested in acquiring this equipment, and knowing if I have all the parts are pretty important. I am trying to acquire the manuals for this equipment, and any help you can lend in this respect would be greatly appreciated. They list several models for both the fork loader and accumulator. Do you have any ideas?

Cheers,
Gerry
