Here are the photos I promised of my Bale spear contraption.

Dont plan on doing any big time work with this. Just needed a way to get the bales off the trailer and onto the ground. The heavy work will be done by the 706. I have a couple ideas for adding weigt to the H. I just happen to have a couple parts balers around. Got a idea to add a couple of Baler fly wheels to the back of the H.

As you can see the mounting points were to narrow for the loader on my H. I had to add some end plate and drill 1 inch holes in them. Did the drilling at the welders. He has a big big drill press there. Also added the mounting point to make it ridgid for my loader.

Hey get the point?

Kelly, I sure do like that little setup. Even though I am not a fan of liquid ballast That might be the fastest and cheapest way for a while. I know that it complicates things when you have a flat. But it gets the most lbs with the least amount of effort. Just have to figure out which way to antifreeze it. The adding of the flywheels on the drawbaar area works for a one or two time deal, but if one of your other trctors goes down, and the pto is needed on this one then things start getting difficult. Good going on this new setup on your ol H. I always enjoy seeing whats happenin in your end of the world.
Later,
John A.

Nice looking rig. My 43 H has the same cutoff rear wheels you have. We used flywheels off D John Deeres for rear weights....fit right onto the axles. Now, those flywheels are rare and expensive. Ben

Nice looking outfit. Is there any way you could hang a removable weight off the back? I have seen many 2 and 3 point systems that were used just while handling heavy loads. It appears that you have someone back there in the top picture that is dressed for throwing bales. Regular help? Often think of the hot days of youth, and the dips in any thing liquid we came across, creek or stock tank. Got yelled at for jumping in the cattles drinking water a lot.
