I was looking over some old farm magazines from 1997 and the following ad appeared in one from NE Kansas.
For Sale:Like New IHC 715 Gas Combine With 14Ft Robot Bean Head.Has Cut Only 900 Acres.Has 2/3rds Of The Power And Threshing Capacity Of A 1660.$12,900 Or Offer.Located On Neb,Kansas Border. I'll bet that combine didnt have 300 hours on it.Its probably an early 70's model.Does anyone know of a lower hour 715 IH than that?My 1978 715 IH has over 3000 hours but yesterday bought a nice 1981 1420 IH Axial Flow with 2800 hours to help the 715 out.

They were nice combines. I had one in gas. Figure on dumping 50 to 60 gal of gas a day through the 715!!

I think you will like your axial flow. Our 1460 has around 4300 hours on it and is still in the field. I wonder if they were selling 715 because it needed straw walkers? :-)

I got my New Idea 323 picker, been through 40 acres, for $1000. But that's only one row, no engine, tranny, ect like you 715.

Great choice! Glad to see you went with the axial-flow. I think you will be happy with it once you get in the field.
