Besides age and looks, what are the differences between a CASE 600 and a 660?

WOW that"s a little steep on price. I picked up 2- 960"s with a 3 row head a 2 row head and a 14 foot been head for $1250.00 and that was a couple of years back now. The 3 row head is a little to much for the 660 machine, well thats what I was always told. My 960 handles it ok but could be better. Jeff

Yeah, I thought about that too, plus I was going to ask him is delivery was included, with diesel at $4.15 a gallon! I wonder if he would throw in an extra head for parts too? Anybody else out there have a 660 for sale with a 10' platform?

$1500 is high for that combine even with 3 heads. Where are you located because it could be smaller combines sell better there? Is it the same person selling the all the 660's and 600's? The heads should interchange between them. I would definitely look for one that has a robotic header with pickup reel.

It has a cab and heat. It come with a 3 row narrow head, 2 row wide head and a 12' platform. I talked to him tonight and he wants $1500.00 for it.

I guess it depends on how bad you want it, but I think he will likely "want" for quite a LONG while if you don't bite. There are just not that many keen buyers out there for that vintage of machine. Maybe you could get him to throw in 1 of the old 600s for use as a parts machine on the deal.

What is one worth? They are all shed kept, and he has all 3 heads to go with the 660 I picked. It is gas and has the 201 in it.

I would say between $250 and $750. The higher end would have to be in excellent condition. What options does it have? That could also make a difference.

I myself would be thinking slightly above scrap price....they are too new and too common to be collectables, they are too small and too old for most farm operations, so what other options does the seller have? Of course, it is going to depend on how motivated the seller & buyer each are, location, etc. As always, its worth whatever the buyer & seller can agree on.

I believe the 660 had a 201 gas engine instead of the 188 on the 600. Also, I think they had the same separating area, but the 660 had a bigger cleaning area? Where are you located? I might be interested in one of the combines you don't want.

This one would be for use, as the MM SP168 I just found is more for the threshing bees and show.

I suspect you will find more significant difference between the options each was equipped with, rather than between the 2 models. There were changes and improvements as they went along but the major specs were pretty much the same, and the vast majority of the parts were interchangeable. Personally, I would go with the 660, all other factors being equal. Also, you didn't say whether this is to use or for a collection.

I have 2 660's to choose from and 3 600's, all gasers with 2 heads, some with cabs and some without.
