Why do they leave the doors open on most of the combines?

Hey 1206, thanks for all the pictures you post, sure are some good ones. That 1355 in your other post is kind of a heartbreaker, dad had a chance to buy one of those about 20 years ago with very few hours, but times were tight and could not get the money, it had the same cab as that one does. Also noticed it does not appear to have the exterior oil pump, good chance it stripped out the oil pump and chucked out the engine, 585's were known for that. The salvage yard around here does not let you walk around, and combines get scrapped as they come in, looks like very few parts missing on the combines you have posted from this salvage yard. Don't stay in the loop much, did you get your vista running or figure out where the antifreeze got into the pistons? take care.

I'm sure that the 1355 MM has a reason for being in a salvage yard and I'll bet that its an expensive one.

Havent gotten the Vista 1000 back together yet as I dont have a heated shop.I'm thinking it was mostly the water pump. The pump is still at Welters waiting on a rebuild.

I'm glad that you have enjoyed the pics.Youve had some nice ones too.

Some of the combines in that yard are still fairly complete. All yards in my area still let you walk thru them.

Hey 1206, do you have their number, I really need a new radiator screen for my 45. Looks like they would have a good one.
