First we have an old model 72 Massey combine in the weeds. My Dad had a 1959 model 72 Massey from 1962-65.

Next is a decent looking 410 Massey.

Then we have a row of Gleaners from early A's up to an N-7.

Last we have a long nose 9500 GMC which is one of my favorite old time trucks. It has the sweet sounding old 318 Detroit (8V-71) 2 cycle in it.I own a 1966 IH CO-4000 Transtar road tractor with a 318 Detroit and a 10 speed.

Combine lovers eat your heart out. Most of the pictures look to be of combines that only need small repairs to be back in the field. Wish I had that 410. Wish someone would maintain parts support for old combines. Contrary to John Deere, Case IH, and AGCO, there still is a need for the small equipment. Custom Cutters do it at their own leisure, not when it needs to be done. Neighbors cornfields were reseeded for next year with the combine, it threw alot over that sprouted and grew up to 3 foot. As short as hay was, I don't understand why they didn't cut the regrowth for the cows. Wasted a lot of money. Now the big question, how many combines did you buy 1206SWMO? Surely it tore your heart out to see those things being junked. Salvage yards are a necessary evil. Have a good night.

Joshua, Most of the combines there are pretty much gone. The pictures I took make them look much better than they are.You hate to see them junked but they are helping to keep others running.Theres maybe 10 combines there that could still be used.

I didnt buy anything at Spring River as they didnt have anything on my want list for 2008.Heres my want list.

123 IH SP with gravity dump bin-just bought one A Gleaner SP with flat head engine-just had one gave to me SP-12 Case-am getting one for free 500 miles away 40 Oliver SP-am dealing on several 55 JD SP with Hercules engine-going to go look at several in KS 40 JD SP-have several to go look at

Others I'm considering buying if money allows.

72 Massey SP 203 IH SP E Gleaner SP

That pretty much shoots the budget after building a shed for them and buying tons of $3.00 diesel to haul them home.

Theres more old combines out there than we can all buy.Lots are shedded and are in near running condition.

I still can't get over the 700/800 Masseys and now you show us an N7?

Someone needs to rescue that huge N7 and have some cheap capacity!

I wish I was not so far away.

Interesting. It just did not look like it had burned like that from the pic. Oh well.

Detroits do sound cool, for a little while, then you spend all day in one and by the end you want to dig your ears out with a spoon just to make the noise go away. 1978 L9000 with an 8-92 and a 13sp. The exhaust was barely an inch over the cab and it would echo off the aluminum dump body. That was a long day.
On the flip side of that down by Lapeer, MI there was a 9500 Jimmy long hood fully restored with a 12-71 with quad turbo's put on it cranking around 750hp along the road for sale. That was a sweet looking ride.
