Re: Restored combines in reply to phillip d, 01-19-2008 08:54:26
I have a John Deere #7 i'm planning to restore. It came from North Dakota and is in excellent shape. I got started collecting combines on here. A fellow in Texas offered a Caterpillar#36 free to anyone who would take it. Well that got the ball rolling. As of right now I have the #7 and a 25 john deere, a G-4, a john deere threshing machine, a john deere grain binder, and oliver stationary baler. I still have to bring the caterpillar 36 home from Texas. I haul tractors and equiment all over the midwest from texas to montanta so I get the chance to look for old combines. And I will say that western Oklahoma western Kansas western Nebraska and western North and South dakota are just loaded with old combines. Old combines can usely be bought alot cheaper than old tractors. Everybody collects old tractors and knows what there worth.
Now I'm from Pennsalvania and old combine like G-4's and #7's wheren't used around here, most people don't even know what they are. So if you have the means to find, haul home and restore and old combine I'd say go for it. Somebody has a restored John Deere 11A on the photo adds and they want 7,000 dollars for it. What will interesting is to see if they actully can get that much for it.

Nice pics 1206 and Ande's right brings back memories of olden days for me ours had a Wisc. on it and didn't look that good ours didn't have a chopper and had at least one cracked reel bat from giant horse weeds. I'm curious as to when the picture was taken looks fairly recent and the IH 350 looks good.

Ande, In the past couple of years I've literally looked thru thousands of online photo albums to find all these pictures.I'm about bleary eyed from it.

Some of these people dont know what a combine is as I see them called all kinds of things.I'm sure that most wont mind me putting them on here so that others can see them.

I'm glad that you liked them. There are more A-6 Case pictures and I'll email you their location when I run across them again.
