third party image

Heres another picture from 1968 of the E Gleaner unloading beans in to our 1951 Ford F-6 grain truck powered by a 226 flathead 6.

The pickup is our candy apple red 1967 Ford Ranger F-100 with 352 and automatic.

We did alot of custom cutting with this E as it would walk on water and would go where others couldnt when it was muddy.

Hi 1206. Thanks for the pictures. Some years ago I took the boys down to Bass Proshops. I35 to KC and down to Joplin. Spent the night in Joplin at Super 8 on the way back. I didn't see no flat open country like that. Wished I had. You must have to get west of the interstate to see that. Whars it like down south of Verona? I knew a guy who lived down the for years. He was a big MM collector and a tractor painter, Clint Kenyon. A few years ago he had a big sale at that tractor show south of KC when they had the MM Collectors summer show there. His son still lives there. I drove north up thru there back about 1966 on the old hiway and I didn't see any thing like that then. I don't remember that much about the country on that trip, but i did notice things had changed in that time. I do remember stopping at the Harry Truman place and spending the night at a motel on the north side of Cameron, that motel is still in buisnes. I saw it and remembered it when I stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn in Cameron Three years ago when I was down there for a tractor show at Lathrop. They hosted the Case Heritage Eagle club show. I am a member and had to go when it was that close. I took two items to display and had a good time. I live about twenty miles north of I35 I80 north of DesMoines, south of Boone. Thanks for the combine pictures and saving the old combines. My Granpa Rector had a threasher and in 50 he bought a MH clipper 50 with the wis. V4 for beans. Sold the threasher in 52 when he left northern Iowa. In 59 he traded for a MM 88 or 89 combine with PTO. 7 ft. cutter with auger and chain feeder and 20 in. tires. That was quite a combine. Granpa always windrowed oats with the old binder,it was a power driven one, pto. Wouldn't mind meeting up with you some day. Good luck. Charley.

Hi Charlie, The western most counties in Missouri are all fairly level to gently rolling. If you drive 71 hiway south from Kansas City to Joplin there are no steep hills at all.I live 3 miles east of 71 hiway.Go 10 miles on east and its mostly rolling cattle country.

I know Clint Kenyon as I once had lots of old MM and TC tractors..I guess hes in Oklahoma now.Holler if you ever get down this way again.I enjoyed hearing about your families old combines.
