Hey 1206SWMO,or anyone else who might know where one might be found, I am looking for a model 35 or model 40 Oliver combine. I would like to find one that is repairable/restoreable that could be used (mostly played with) in wheat and soybeans. My father had a 1956 model that was an awesome machine. I would pay an exorbitant ammount for his original machine, but I'm sure it has been crushed and melted long ago. It was traded to the John Dealer in Rockport Ind. for a new 1967 55 John Deere. Any help will be appriciated!

My contact out in western Kansas knows of 4-5 Oliver 35's.Two are supposed to be in great condition. If things work out I'll be going out there late next week depending upon the weather-etc.

I can buy a shedded Oliver 40 diesel for $1250 but hate to pay that much.

1206 SWMO, would you know if the 40 diesel has the Thomas Vari-Draulic drive on it? If it has it would be a rare find indeed. I believe the Thomas drive unit was only available on the 40. While there is some debate on th matter, many believe this was the industries first attempt at a form of hydraulic propulsion of a self-propelled combine. If you would, drop me an e-mail about condition, location, owners, etc on any of the Olivers you are not interested in. Thanks!
