Took a little drive over to LaHarpe,KS this afternoon to look at the 303 IH combine that sells tomorrow. It was real straight but has sat out for quite sometime. The engine is probably stuck. The cornhead sheet metal was perfect.

I'm afraid that the junkman will get this one.

Hi 1206,
DO NOT,I REPEAT DO NOT LET ANY JUNK MAN, OR ANYONE ELSE LIKE THAT NEAR THIS IH 303,
i know this man that had a 55 JD and i wanted it, and before i could get there,
this junk man went to the area where it was, and took it away for scrap,
Need less to say , he was ticked off, and i was too,
stupid junk people anyway, i cant stand them, their like parasite,s wondering around and seeing if they can get something for nothing and take it away for scrap, and ruin it,
If you can get back to that place where it is,
dont let anyone have it ok,
It,s in too good of condition to let go to just anybody,
kirk,

Here is the 303's grain platform. It was in decent shape.

We are having trouble getting rid of that big snow that fell a week ago Thursday. It didnt warm up very much today like it was suspposed to.

I found another 35 MH SP combine on the way over to look at the 303 IH.After looking over the 303 I went down to Brazilton,KS and bought that model S MM combine from the junker that bought it during the snow storm on Nov 30th.Now I've got to figure out how to load it and get it home.

1206, are you going to go after this 35 MH you found? What sort of shape was it in?

Al, I didnt have time to stop yesterday but the next time I'm out that way I'll look it over if the owner will let me.Its 50 miles away.
We circled by it twice but it was over 100 yards off the road with some stuff blocking the view. The paint looked decent so it hasnt sat out forever.

The guy I bought my S MM combine from yesterday said he junked a real nice 35 Massey combine not that long ago because no one wanted it.

I recently found two more parts 35 Masseys 30 miles away but the owner is never home. There are lots of 35's in this area.

I hope you get them. If things "fall into place" I am going to advertise for a 35 before long. I think as many small farms as we had, there has to be a few still sitting under barn shelters and in the back corners of sheds.

Butch, this morning I was getting ready to go to that sale thinking that it was today and then I looked at the sale bill one more time and realized that it was on Sunday. It got snowed out a week ago.

Sunday afternoon farm sales are a little more common over in Kansas. You rarely ever see one in Missouri.

Nope because the shot would have been directly in to the sun and would have been a poor one.
