Went over to Kansas today and was able to purchase a one family owner 91 IH lever steer combine with 2 row #25 corn head.It was driven in the shed 7 years ago but the engine is stuck now.

Also got a one family owner parts 91 at the same place. It has a cab and grain head. Its missing only the engine.

The farm that I bought some hay from today has a 91 in the barn that runs. The farmer passed away last summer, he used it to combine this last year. His widow offered it to me but I don't know what a fair offer would be. Any ideas?
Thanks

If it has been shedded, has decent paint, and is field ready its worth $750-1000.

Offer $500 and go from there.Do you have a picture of it?

I'd love to have a 91 to screw around on someday. I think, even though early engineering, they are really something for their time. Thanks for the pics! Hope to see more of them.

Russell,I ran want ads in two area farm papers.I was offered (2) restorable 91 IH combines and (3) parts 91 combines. One of the restorable combines was so over priced that it wasnt even funny.

One of these days I will be going to go and look at a parts combine with a 8.5 ft head on it.Its 120 miles away.

I know of a real nice 91 for sale down in Texas.Keep searching and you will find one.Good Luck.

Glad for you that you found one! Can't be too many around anymore. Uncle had one in the 60s. He had a SP Owatonna swather and would cut beans in the morning, combine them late in the afternoon with the 91. Also did the oats with it- did not use it for corn. Imagine there are not too many around anymore.

I felt real fortunate to find my (2) 91's less than 150 miles away. The 91 IH's seem to be few and far between these days.Quite a few were sold new in this area.

They probably werent the best combine IH ever built so many of them hit the junkyards by the 1970's.One junkyard I go to says that they can remember junking half a dozen or so 91's.

I do know of a junk yard with two fairly complete 91's in it missing the engines and wheels.
