I am trying to restore a 1969 John Deere Model 60 lawn tractor and need to replace the r/h axel bearing & seal. Is there a way to remove these without parting the transaxel gear box?

I have a seal 40-62-10/7 I'm looking for. I was told that national seal would use a 740196 or 710131. I need a price on the seals and a place where I may buy one of these seals. Thank you for all the help you can give.

If the seals are right at the end of axle housing, there are a couple ways to do it. First one drive a screw driver into seal and pry it out. This will destroy the seal. 2nd get a seal puller from local auto parts store and use it. They can explain how to do it. You could probably rent it, Ed
