I"ve had to replaced the battery a couple of times in the last couple of years, but now even with a relatively new battery it won"t start without jumping it. When I jump it it start and runs fine. However, with the engine running, if I flipped on the PTO the engine would quit. I then discovered that if I flipped the PTO with the jumper cables still attached I could get the blades going and the engine wouldn"t quit and I could cut my lawn. Now, however, when I try to remove the jumper cables with the blades on they will immediately cut out. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

Problem is is the charging system isnt working
111 has a low output charging system
The system has a charging stator under flywheel and a diode in the wiring
Most likly the diode is burnt out
2 different styles were used Most common was a diode in a short red wire
Follow the single lead from under flywheel to find diode
usually a red wire with eyelet hooked to positive side of starter solenoid
Some unit had a diode module A square box under battary box
Battery box removal will make tracing wires easier Good Luck Gary
