hydrostatic question

what would be the outcome of putting a bigger pully on a tractor(craftsman ride on) with a hydrostatic transmission..getting two for free and i think it would be cool to make one into a little speeder for laughs

I agree with Bill about the hydro,Check my photo in,[ Took the girls for a walk ] This is a bolens husky 4" pully on front,2 1/2" on 3 speed trans. You dont have to go that ratio unless you want to race it.It also has a solid axle so both wheels turn together,[You can weld spiders together]cheaper]does great power slides added a foot throttle. To run stock on our local track, We went from an 11 hp to 10hp [better torque out of turns. Clocked it 53 on good surface,[I won't say highway.HA!HA!---check this web.www. shadetreespeedway.com

I wouldn't do it. The Hydros are meant to run at a certain speed. Run them too fast and they don't get proper lubrication and they will lock up.
