In your opinion, just how important is a fuel filter on a garden tractor?

Thanks

You can answer this question your self by pulling down a float bowel on a carburetor that does not have a fuel filter.

I did have to change the fuel filter since it did such a good job of filtering. The engine lost power when mowing and a new filter fixed the problem.

I would keep using one. Hal
PS: I haven't had to clean the carburetor in 37 years. Just plowed the garden with it last week.

I personally use one. I have found, that if you use the correct type, it prevents foreign material from getting into the Float Valve Seat and prevents clogging the Jets. Just my two cents worth.
