If it says Pennsylvania it was made in Waynesboro
Virginia after the smaller Panzers were built.I have a Pennsylvania Meteor its is the one with the hydrostatic drive and bench type seat.

It probably also says PANZER. There is info on the web for Pennsylvania Panzer tractors. Try doing a google search for Panzer tractors.

The rear axle on these tractors is a narrowed down Plymouth car axle.

They were originally called Panzers, but the company got a lot of flak about the German army tank name, so they dropped it and named it "Pennsylvania Tractors". They said the machines sold a lot better after the name change. A good old machine to restore. A friend has one, and uses it every summer!

Actually the name change resulted when they were sold to VA Metal Works in Waynesboro VA the company needed a dealer network to market their garden tractor and bought the Pennslyvania Garden tractor Company.Hence the name change.Since all Copars,Panzers and PA garden tractors were built after WWII I doubt the name change had any bearing on it at all.
