Bought a Wheel Horse Charger 12 Automatic. It has hydraulic lift with a mower deck and an odd looking lift on the back.Did Wheel Horse make implements to fit that lift? If so anyone know where to find some?

Wheel Horse sold both a slot type and clevis type hitch for their tractors. Alot of the attachmnets from the 50's and 60's were made by Wheel Horse and were the slot type. In the late 60's other attachmnet manufactuers (Brinley) had a clevis type connector using a long pin, this made more attachmnets universal. If you found a Wheel Horse Charger 12 model in your area then attachmnets should close by too, the Annual Wheel Horse Show and ebay are great sources to find Wheel Horse parts and attachments. You can use a 1973 or newer mower deck on your Charger 12 but a adapter kit will be needed. Keep in mind that any attachmnet you can find for a big tractor you can also find for a Wheel Horse!

Where and when is the Wheel Horse show? I have a 'project' D180 and a GT 14 I'll be needing some things for.

The 10 th Annual Wheel Horse Show will be held on June 20 and 21 ,2008 at the South Mountain Fairgrounds in Arendtsville,Pa. which is near Gettysburg. This show brings in 500 to 700 Wheel Horse garden tractors from all over the United States and Canada (with vistors from other countries). We have a huge swap meet for Wheel Horse tractors and parts. Watch for posts on the internet at the first of the year.

If you will post a picture of the odd looking lift, I can answer that question. Wheel Horse used a lift on the back that went on the transmssion case and you used slot hitch equipemnt. they used plows, disc, about anything that used what I call a slot hitch set up.

Art, Check your belt to make sure it is actually turning. The belt tightener can get stuck in place and will not put enought pressure on it to make it drive. also check and make sure that the pin in the shifter is not broken or the set screw has not came loose and you are in nuetral and the shifter is not moving the shifting forks.
A couple things to check, especially if you can shift without pushing in on the clutch. You could also have the tip of the shifter broken off and this also will allow you to shift without using clutch.

Check the shaft key that ties trans pulley to input shaft of trans, same may be sheared, also check that keys that tie axle & wheel hubs together aren't sheared, rounded off or one missing, also that set screw in hub tight locking hub & shaft key.You mentioned you cound shift without using clutch, you shouldn't be able to do this without grinding gears,I would also pull belt guard & check belt for wear & idler arm pulley assembly, check that belt hasn't jumped off idler pulley & that whole clutch/idler mech operates freely and also that return spring for same isn't broken or off, check belt for wear & glazing,it's possible you just need a new drive belt
