This is in ref to a tecumseh 14 hp walbro carb, that i had asked about,it sill wants to load up and blow black smoke,it will run fine and then all at once it will load up and just set there and belch black smoke, and when it does this i can adjust the needle and won't help it a bit until i pull the throttle back and then open it back up and it is fine, for a while anyway.

I am wondering if it is the right carb for the motor, the carb only has one needle and it goes in at an angle on the top between the throttle plate and the engine,i have seen others that have a needle on the bottom of the float bowl and one on the side of the carb, the one that is on it is a walbro WGH.

By the way this is in a Bolens G14 tractor,
the motor is a HH140 tecumseh.

Take eng mod & spec#'s to local mower shop & have them look up correct carb & order for you(you WILL come away with lighter pockets, best guess would be $100 or more for new carb)checked my microfiche cards, basic carb the same on HH140,difference being the throttle shaft & bell crank on end of shaft, varies from spec# to spec#(4 different ones listed) OR you could prowl around on ebay in the outdoor power equip section riding mower, bolens, deere, wheelhorse etc or techumseh eng section of same for a new or used carb, did some quick checking last night in tecumseh eng section,in winter & spring there were armloads of new carbs listed, now has dried up,couldn't find a one listed.

I agree with you about hi-speed needle on carb bowl, all HH series eng I have seen have 2 needles, checked my Tecumseh manual, model carb you have is wrong carb(but may be sold as replacement for orig),used on ohv engines, fixed hi-speed jet(this is probably why you are having trouble),needle on side is idle mix, this is why it dosen't affect hi-speed end, will check my microfich cards to make sure & get back to you.One other possiblity is throttle, gov & carb linkage not set up right.

Now i think we are getting somewhere,i did notice that the needle seemed to only work for the idle, the guy i bought it from had the carb put on,it is a brand new carb,do you know where i could find the right carb that is suposed to be on it?
