on the tecumseh i"ve been working on(TVS-90), when i took off the cylinder cover the camshaft fell out before i could align and mark the gears where it meets the crank. so my quetion is will i ever be able to get the timing right again?

the reason i tore it down in the first place was to replace rings. the piston has minimal wear on the outside but no visible scoring in the cylinder so as soon as i measure for out-of-roundness i guess i"m good to go?

there is an old gentleman who might be able to help me. he used to have a small engine repair business, now retired, but he"s in his 80"s so i better hurry.

there i no deadline on this i have all the time in the world so long as money holds out. but if i can"t ever get the timing right again i may be finished. any ideas? thanks.
