I was wondering what purpose the ignitor serves, and instead of spending $$$ for a new one, could something substitute for it..deanop

o.k. Now here's my question..I wonder if I could use an electronic module that replaces points in a small engine like say a briggs/lawn boy thingy..I have a few of those conversion kits...do you think it'd work? deanop

Deanop,
I have not personally tried it, but I have been told it will work, The briggs one will not work, but it you get an Atom ignition module, I have heard they work, no guarantees, though.

well I put in a module called "mega fire", I'm sure its pretty old brand, but it works, and the old kawai's running fine for now...Turns out I've got about 7 of those modules, so I spose I can afford to burn a few out...The box that it came from almost looks like a briggs box, but it didn't have the logo, so don't know...anyway thanks for the help, and will let you guys know if she burns out..thanks again deanop...
