with help from you guys i tryed to adjust my hydro linkage lever today. i got the comsept of how it works now. there is a spring on the bolt but it looks like i am missing the plastic adjuster coller that would hold pressure on the cam plate. let me know if im talkin with a straight head about the coller?. ALSO, on the linkage cover plate there is a slot in the center. whats that for?. and then there is a little silver flat bar that has the top bent over witch is under the plate and conected to the rod that runs the foward-reverse handle. i dont have a clue on what that little bugger is for?....thanks guys

is this the cam plate and bolt that holds the pressure for the hydro lever?. plus the spring broke 2 weeks ago and i dont know where it hooks up. so i put a spring on the plate{as seen in pic} to hold the pedal up. when the spring broke the pedal droped and i could not move the hydro lever. i could pull the pedal back then move the handle to a desired speed and let the pedal drop back down and it would hold any speed that i wanted. but this was only with the spring broke.

Perry,
Are you asking about the neutral cam plate or the cam plate spacer? There is a 1/2 x .140 Nyliner bushing that works with the cam plate spacer.
The needle in the slot of the panel covering the shift mechanisum is the direction indicator, when your 877 was new there was a paint screened decal indicating Forward and Reverse on the panel. Over the years the painting most likely has worn off.
