I have the owners manuals on a Montgomery Wards GIL-33420A Garden tractor. This on is hydrostatic transmission with hyd. cylinder actuator. I have parts blow-up and part number pages. Toro is the current supplier of any parts for Gilson. I just sent them a mail requesting more information.

If your customer is interested, I could sell mine. It still runs great and I have the plow, disc, 42" mower deck, and trailer. I use it once a week to cut my 1 acre lawn and haul my trash down to the road.

Let me know if you would like a copy of the books or to purchase.

We are looking for a used mower deck for a 1988 Dohn Deere 240.
We were informed that a 46 and a 48-inch deck was interchangeable with this unit.

I'm not 100% sure, but when I look for blades for my Murray, some places say it fits Scotts. So I'm assumed that Murray may have manufactured some of the Scotts tractors.

Don't use sand paper to clean the crank journals..... .!! Use Crocus cloth--wrapped around the journal---oil well, then wrap ( coil ) a cotton cloths-line around the Crocus cloth 'till you can't wrap another coil around it.... Spin the Crocus cloth with the cotton line, and keep it oiled..... The journal will come out clean and Polished...!! It will not remove enough crank material to measure, either...

Well, there's a 30" tiller and a 31" tiller that fit the 212. The 30" tiller for the 212 was hydraulic and will not work on a 260, since the 260 only accepts the 30" mechanical tiller. So that knocks the 31" tiller out of the compatibility chart as well. You might be able to modify something to get the tiller to hook up, but to operate the hydraulics would be a bit much.

I have a MW Rototiller Model GIL-1590A S/N 96X75452. From reading this forum ... it would appear the Rototiller was made for MW by Gilson. Would anyone have a clue as to where I might find parts for this old workhorse ... I am specifically looking for the worm gear and worm wheel ... appears to be 34 tooth and 10 pitch ... it's a great tiller with a 7-1/2 horse B&S on it ... probably vintage late '60's I would guess ... bought it used ... would really appreciate parts breakdown if anyone has it ... I have put a lot of hours on this tiller and would really like to keep it going ... no one makes them like this anymore ...

I just resently recieved a Gilson lawn tractor. It has a 15hp Briggs motor and has a 4 speed variable drive transmition. I have no idea as to the year even though all the stickers are there. Hi. It depends on what year your tractor is. If it is a roundfender tractor (1967 or earlier), you could use a #46 (46")deck off of a roundfender 112. If your tractor is a later model, you can use the #47 (46") deck off of a 10hp 110, 112 or 210-216 tractors. Just so you know, JD only offered the 46" decks for 10hp and larger tractors originally. Anyway, I hope this helps.

Acquired a Montgomeryward tractor made by Gilson I am told, "squire 12" Briggs power,Hydraulic lift, tiller,snow blower,blade. Am needing to get parts to bring these back to good working order.to start with right angle gear box that drives the transmission is rattling could use a rebuild kit, the hydraulic pump is driven off input side of this gearbox the pump functions under power but won't sustain pressure at stall or off. all of the seals are in order i suspect. Apprx age 1968 ??
