is there a way to turn up the pressure or volume on the pumps in cub cadet hydros? i am trying to build a hydro cub for pulling, what will have to be done to the drive train to make it hold the higher pressure produced by a high preformance pump? will making more pressure or volume make the tractor run faster? has anayone built one for pulling before? we will be running a 12hp kohler k301. anyone with info or ideaas please respond.

You can't make more volume with the pump, because it is a positive-displacement pump, and when it is set to "high", the swashplate is at it's limit of movement, and the pump IS at it's maximum displacement.

The limiting factor in torque through the unit is the strength of the large springs holding the pump and motor piston barrels against the brass "commutator" plates. Beyond a certain torque, which equates to PRESSURE, the barrels will be forced away from the plates, and oil will leak internally, limiting torque and pressure within the unit.
