apparently thier are very few of these around anymore. if your an owner of one of this type of tractors let me know perhaps we could compare notes.

I would be interested in finding parts and accessories for the 2 that I own.

I have an old Jacobsen Chief 1000, early 70's. Runs strong has no deck. I have long since given up looking for parts. Anyone living in the NJ area, who has a deck or plow to sell, or is interested in my tractor send me an e-mail. Just put Jacobsen Chief in the subject line.

Thanks

I recently bought a Jacobsen Chief 1000 with no deck. Brakes don't work and it has no deck. Engine is strong and I have several implements.
Is the Ford LGT 100 the same? Looking for parts tractor. Live in Hillsboro TN.

Hi all
I am new to this kind of community but perhaps I could find some help.
I bought a Jacobsen Chief 1200 and completely dismantled it, repainted and reassembled it. It now looks almost like new and the engine runs very well, but I have a problem in which I can’t put in the gears while the engine is running. I have no manual or such, but could someone tell me what is an electric clutch and how does it work?
Regards
Rolf

Re: Re: HELP!!-Is the STX38 Hydro any good? in reply to Dave, 07-26-2002 20:45:39
Dave - Thanks for the reply. Currently I'm using a 38" Deere SX95 rear mount (which cost me $500 at a farm sale 6 years ago) and I'm right at about 1 acre of lawn or a little less. I don't intend to pull any heavy garden equipment except for a small yard cart. My neighbor is the one selling the STX38. I mowed with it once and was very satisfied with how it handled the hills and trees. My only concern is the durability of a small hydro tranny. My experience with hydro trannys is limited to large farm equipment. If I can get him closer to $750 or $800 I might grab it. Cosmetically it is very clean and well maintained. He's selling it for his parents who no longer mow their own yard. The last two years it's been used very little. - Thanks again!

yes we are, i am lucky enough to own 2 of them, ,both within 15 miles of each other. one has rounded fenders (looks like a proto type?) and the other has the square odd looking fenders like yours probably has. both of mine are chief 750's with a 7 h.p. kohler. E-mail me and we can talk more. I am located in harrodsburg kentucky. I am interested in talking to other jacobsen owners.

I may have a few mower decks available for jacobsen tractors, I will need to check on condition and size. Any interest? please email me.
I have a small inventory of odd lawn and garden tractors in stock, but no Jacobsens.

James,
I about destroyed the aluminum deck on my Jacobsen Super Cheif 1450 Hydro. Do you have anything that would fit? How about the blades only? Uses 1 @ 19" and 2 @ 14". All I seem to get here is snickers when I look for parts. Didn"t think blades would be so difficult to find here in Wisconsin.

Yes, Us Jacobsen Chief owners are few and far between. I have 2 Jacobsen Chief garden tractors, and all i know about them is that one is a 1962, and the other is a 1963. If anyone could help me to identify what model they are, or if anyone has any other information, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys, I've been trying to locate some information on my Jacobsen Super Chief. Im 13 years old and just got my Jacoben for free from a neighbor down the street. I don't think me or him had any idea of how rare these tractors actually were. I'm not surewhat year or model it is but I'll be checking the serial a.s.a.p. If any of you could tell me how rare the Super Chief really is I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!-Andy

I found your posting about your jacobsen chief. I have been given a Jacobsen Super Chief 1200. I know nothing about it. But after giving it a close look I have fallen in love with it. It is built like a tank. It needs a little work. It is a rotary cut,and has an aluminum deck. I would like to restore it. Is this the model you have. If so, may I get copies of your manual. I will reimburse you for the expense of copies. Thanks RH

I'm not all that familiar with the 195, but I had to replace the output shaft on my LGT 145 a couple years ago. Got this from the local Ford-New Holland dealer. Not cheap at $145, but what can you do? Good luck with yours.

I also have a jacobsen chief tractor equipped with a plow. It is missing the lift bar that attatches to the tractor.( it attatches to the mower deck lift lever on the right side of the tractor) Do you have that part? I am also missing the pin that holds the plow to the underside of the tractor.

Brad
